YOGA TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM
Yoga and the yoga teaching profession has now become not only a highly respected and recognized art & science
- but a medium that transform lives in powerful ways.
The Training offer a teacher training program that provides enough time to assimilate and digest all the information needed to become an effective and skillful teacher. As an alternative to the many short-term intensive yoga teacher courses, here is an option that gives the student time to first be the student.
The unique, in-depth Immersion program, designed by John Friend, offers a full exploration of the technical aspect of yoga asana, philosophy, meditation, and pranayama. Then, after completion of Phase I, the student may embark on Phase II: The Art of Teaching Program - which adress all essential aspects of yoga teaching profession, such as teaching methodology; organization; class planning; practice teaching; and taking the honorable seat of a yoga teacher.
Due to the high quality of teaching provided through Anusara yoga, as well as its high certification requirements, it turns out that many students joining the Immersions and Teacher Trainings already teach yoga and are looking for further guidance. At the end of the day we are all students of yoga, and here is an opportunity for anybody to deepen their own practice and skills.
ANUSARA TEACHER TRAINING (108 hours)
Part I: THE ART OF TEACHING I
Part II: THE ART OF TEACHING II
Part III: THE ART OF TEACHING III
The Art of Teaching Program explores the essential Anusara teaching methodologies that enable participants to effectively share the gift of yoga with others. For those already teaching yoga it will help attune, re-inspire, and refine yoga teaching to a high degree.
Pre-requisites: Those applying for the Teacher Training program need to have completed the Anusara Immersion, or completed equivalent Anusara studies. Check with the instructor for details.
TEACHER TRAINING DESCRIPTION
The 3-part Teacher Training Program address the fundamentals of effective and inspiring yoga teaching through the Anusara methodology.
Initial topics include: use of language technique to empower and inspire students to move from the inside out; the Anusara-specific weaving of heart-felt themes and philosophy into classes; demonstration techniques; sequencing classes to accomodate various levels; how to embody the auspicious responsibility of being a teacher.
Students will leave the first level equipped with powerful teaching delivery techniques.
In between the teacher trainings modules, students further their studies by documenting, through a journal, a self practice in their home environment. This includes reading about yoga and related subjects, and creating a regular practice of meditation, pranayama, and asana.
The final levels are all about expanding and deepening what has already been previously established. At this point students have shown their strong desire to live and teach yoga and have recognized the Anusara system as an effective and inspiring path. The understanding and skill in all teaching areas will here be expanded: verbal and manual adjustments, language, themes, sequencing, organization, and taking the seat of the teacher more fully.
Ongoing deepening and refinement of asana, pranayama & meditation practices is part of all teacher training modules.
In the end, the student has completed a program of 216 training hours + many more hours on the yoga mat.
ONE OR SEVERAL MODULES - YOUR CHOICE
Qualified students are free to take any of the above modules without enrolling in the full 200+ hour program. The desire to advance on the path of yoga is a most valid reason to participate.
